Anthony Steve Russo

Anthony Steve Russo unexpectedly went into Our Lord's loving arms October 31, 2025.

The third child of four, Anthony thrived in Miami, of Italian immigrant parents. He was raised Catholic, attending public schools, graduating from North Miami Senior 1969 before achieving his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Physics from Florida Atlantic University.

Anthony worked in industry at Martin Marietta in Orlando until he decided to follow his dream of teaching physics and astronomy and he secured a tenured college professorship at NorthWest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida for over 20 years. Meeting Marlene Kay Steen in 1979, they married and welcomed three children: Richard, Nancy, and Jay. After 17 happy years, Marlene died; Anthony raised his children being father, mother, and breadwinner. He took this challenge seriously while teaching and did not miss a beat, even with the little things like shopping at six different stores to find Nancy's favorite cake so she could be happy for her 10th birthday.

Anthony was a man of deep faith and was blessed to place his footsteps on holy ground in Jerusalem in 2009 with his sister Grace. He loved it so much and his desire was to take all his children there.

In 2018, Anthony married his sweetheart Judith Hartl and it became a joyful period in his life as he and Judith enjoyed a seven year loving and devoted marriage before his passing. Retired from teaching, he and Judith were able to spend quality time together, travel to visit family (particularly grandchildren!), and enjoy their favorite activity, cruising to both U.S. and European ports of call.

Anthony is predeceased by his parents: Sebastian Steve Russo and Elisa Antogiovanni Russo, wife Marlene, and brother-in-law Charlie Tozzi. He is survived by his adoring wife Judith, and three children: Richard Russo, wife Beth, and daughter Ella; Nancy Russo Clark, husband Kent, and daughter Kaylene; and Jay Russo, wife Keyoka, and three children Delvecchio, Autumn Elisa, and Naomi. Also, his immediate family: two sisters, Jean Russo and Grace Russo with daughter Marisa Hindmarsh, and brother Ray Russo, wife Lori, and two children: Jessica Russo Martin and husband Nick Martin, and Nicholas Steve Russo.

Anthony is dearly loved and respected and will be forever missed. Private services will be held.
